NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Parents of Great NorthStars,

We are down to the last weeks of the school year. We have had a strong finish for our school attendance. We have had more than 10 classes the past two months earn Kona Ice with more than 95% attendance. I set the goal for all classes to earn Kona Ice for the last month. That means each student can miss 2 days or less of class during May. Please help your child earn this goal by scheduling doctor and dentist appointments before and after school or after our last day. Thanks in advance for your help.

We want to make you aware of a change in our school hours next year. Next year the time that our doors will open is 8:15. This change will align us with all other Manhattan elementary schools. We had to make this change due to the staffing challenges that we have had. The tardy bell will still be at 8:45 and the end of the day will be at 3:45. We are fortunate that we have a Boys and Girls Club at Northview for those of you who need to drop students off prior to 8:15. Thanks for your understanding.

Finally, in these last couple of weeks all students at Northview will be finishing the Fastbridge and iReady testing to complete. This helps us know how much our students have learned and grown this school year. We are excited to share the information with you. Our last school day is a half day on May 23rd.  Breakfast will be served. However, school lunch will not be served. Dismissal time will be at 12:00. Please make arrangements so that your child has a plan to get home by this early dismissal time.

Thank you for your support,

Sincerely,

Nick Goos

Principal, NV
